Grand Theft Auto V is the latest and the most successful installment of the Grand Theft Auto Series. It was released on September 17, 2013, and was developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. The game can be played on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game is set in fictional Los Santos, a modern-day city based on Los Angeles, California and a fictionalized version of the American Southwest.

The gameplay of Grand Theft Auto V is much similar to the previous installments. The player controls the game by using the gamepad, joystick, mouse or keyboard. The player can switch between three characters: the protagonist Michael, the retired bank robber Trevor, and the professional burglar Franklin. The player can also switch between these three characters in the middle of missions.

The game consists of three main parts: missions, the open world of San Andreas, and side missions. The missions are divided into two different types: story missions and side missions. The player can switch between the three characters at any point, but the story missions are available only for one specific character.

The gameplay follows 3 protagonists who are connected by a common thread: they commit heists, compete in street races, deal with gang life, and contend with law enforcement.

Grand Theft Auto V is one of the first video games to use the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE), which is also used in Rockstar's Max Payne 3. The engine allows the game to have a real-time day and night cycle, and also a smoother world with more realistic water. The game features an open world set in Los Santos that is fully accessible to the player from the beginning of the game without any loading screens.

Grand Theft Auto V is a very long game. It offers many hours of gameplay for the player. Many people who have played the game have spent over 100 hours on it.
